This show marked another turning point
for the society in performing what was at the time a 'modern'
Rogers and Hammerstein show at the Longcroft School hall. The
show also boasted another of the Society's claims to fame by it's
casting of Ruth Madoc in the role of Prince
Chululongkorn, by all accounts played without a Welsh accent.
Although we do not have a photograph of this early production, the picture opposite shows some of the Society members meeting Ruth Madoc after a play in which she was performing at the New Theatre Hull with Brian Murphy in the early 80's. Ruth is now the Society's President.
