Oliver (1997)

They do say that you should never work with children or animals, and here we are with our third show in a row with children and the second in as many years with a dog! This turned out to be a powerful show with some casting surprises which worked very well. As usual the children were a major headache throughout rehearsals and turned in brilliant performances on the night.

The show was performed at the Middleton Hall in Hull, using a huge permanent set made from scaffolding and hessian, brought to life by some innovative lighting. A rather calculating Fagin (Trevor Lilley), a particularly sinister Sykes (Brian Hossack), and a powerful, moving Nancy (Michaela Adams) made this a particularly memorable show.
