This acclaimed Rodgers and Hammerstein
musical had not been performed before by the Beverley Operatic
Society, but was nevertheless highly successful and enjoyed by
cast and audience alike. As the picture shows, we somehow managed
to draw together a significant number of men who particularly
enjoyed the challenge of speaking with an American accent. The
ladies of the chorus, however, were not so keen on the long black
wigs and all over to make-up for the island ladies!
